Using the case studies

  • Choose a case study from the menu at the top of the page. You will need to log in using your UniKey account to begin a case study. Visit Student IT if you need help using your UniKey account.
  • When you begin a case study you should start by viewing the case study background to familiarise yourself with the basic facts of the case.
  • You can interview the owner by asking them questions. Questions are grouped into topics, each topic being represented by one of the icons on the top half of the case study screen.
  • Hovering over a topic will show you it's name, and clicking on it will reveal questions you ask can in the lower half of the case study screen.
  • Hovering over a question will show you it's name, and clicking on it will play a video of the owner's response to that question.
  • Some questions may have a further follow-up question you can ask to get more information. If a follow-up question is available, it will be highlighted when you ask the initial question.
  • After asking a question you can indicate how relevant you think it is to the animal's behavioural problem using the scale. If you wish to make any extra notes about the response, enter them into the field provided.
  • Your answers will automatically be saved every minute, and you can manually save them using the "Save" button. If you have saved answers you will be asked if you want to load them the next time you access the case study.
  • When you are finished interviewing, press the "Review and submit" button to review your answers, and submit your diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • You will be emailed a copy of your case study submission, and a copy will be submitted to the faculty for assessment. Refer to grading information for more information on how submissions are graded.
